DiskScanPro scans a folder or drive and shows what's using your space as a tree-map, sunburst, or top-files list — coloured by size, age, or type.
DiskScanPro is sandboxed for the Mac App Store, which means it can only read the folders you explicitly grant it. Choosing a folder or drive is how you give it access. Your choice is remembered so you don't have to pick it again.
Certain system-protected folders can't be read even after you grant access. DiskScanPro skips them, tells you how many it skipped, and excludes them from the totals — so the number shown is the data it could actually measure.
Files inside hidden iCloud containers (under Library/Mobile Documents) aren't shown by the Finder at all, so there's nowhere to reveal them. DiskScanPro flags these and offers to copy the path — you can paste it into the Finder's Go to Folder (⇧⌘G). Manage that storage in the owning app or in System Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud.
Scanning reads every file, and over Wi-Fi that can be much slower than a local disk. DiskScanPro warns you before scanning a network drive; you can dismiss the warning and reset it later in Settings.
Not exactly — it's the size of the data you scanned, not your whole disk. System areas and folders you didn't grant aren't included. DiskScanPro reports the real size on disk (physically allocated space) and counts hard links and clones only once, so what it does measure is accurate.

Email supportDiskScanPro does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
It runs entirely on your Mac. It reads the folders you choose in order to measure and visualise their size on disk. That's it.
Nothing. DiskScanPro has no account and no sign-in, makes no network connections, and contains no analytics, tracking, or advertising. Your file names, paths, and contents are never sent anywhere.
Only your preferences and the list of folders you've scanned — kept locally using macOS security-scoped bookmarks so you don't have to re-grant access each time. You can remove any of them in the app, and turning off Remember recent folders in Settings clears the list.
DiskScanPro is a utility with no user accounts and collects no data, so it is suitable for all ages.
