Terms of Service

Lumidex Studio · last updated 19 July 2026

These Terms govern your purchase and use of Lumidex Studio (the “Software”). By downloading, purchasing, or using the Software, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

1. Your licence

Lumidex Studio is a one-time purchase. Your licence is a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the Software on up to 2 Macs you own or control, for personal or commercial photography work. You may not resell, redistribute, rent, or reverse-engineer the Software, except to the extent that applicable law permits. The Software includes third-party open-source components under their own licences — see Open-Source Licenses.

2. Payments and billing

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles customer-service inquiries and returns for the purchases you make. Paddle’s terms also apply where you make a purchase through them, and we encourage you to read them at paddle.com/legal/buyer-terms. Where you make a purchase, Paddle’s terms determine related issues such as payment methods, receipts, refunds, and chargebacks. We reserve the right to change the resellers and/or payment providers we use; if we do, we will notify you of the change and of any additional information required from you, and it is your responsibility to provide that information promptly and accurately.

By using Lumidex Studio, or purchasing it using our services, you agree to be charged for it and for any fees associated with the products or services you purchase, via the payment method you have provided. You may be charged by us, our payment processor, or our reseller without further authorisation from you. You will not receive any product or features that are not paid for.

3. Refunds

We offer a 7-day money-back window, and a refund cancels your licence. Full details, including how to request one and your statutory rights, are on our Refund Policy page.

4. Privacy and your data

Lumidex Studio runs on your Mac and manages your own photo files, which stay on your devices and storage — we don’t upload them. The app contacts our licence server about once a month to keep your licence valid, sending only a one-way hash of your Mac’s id and your licence key. There is no tracking, advertising, or telemetry. See our Privacy Policy.

5. No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Software is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. This does not exclude any warranty or right that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lumidex Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Software. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the Software.

7. Not responsible for lost funds

Lumidex Studio is not responsible for any unauthorised activities, payments, or withdrawal of funds resulting from any lost, stolen, or compromised user accounts, passwords, or email accounts.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of the Software after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
