Export & print

Two ways to get finished photos out of Lumidex Studio: export them as files, or print them.

Exporting files

Select one or more photos and choose File ▸ Export… (⇧⌘E). The export dialog is organised into sections:

  • Export Location — the destination folder, and an optional subfolder.
  • File Naming — rename the exported files with a template.
  • File Settings — Format (JPEG, TIFF and more), Quality, Colour Space and Bit Depth.
  • Image Sizing — resize to fit a target dimension, or export at full size.
  • Output Sharpening — sharpening tuned for the output.
  • Metadata — how much metadata to include.
  • Watermarking — apply a watermark (create them in Lumidex Studio ▸ Edit Watermarks…).
  • Post-Processing — what happens after export (for example, show the files in Finder).
Export again, instantly

File ▸ Export with Previous (⌥⇧⌘E) re-runs your last export with identical settings and no dialog — handy for batches you export the same way every time.

Note: video export isn't supported in this version.

Printing

Switch to the Print module (⌥⌘4) to lay photos out on a page. The right-hand panels control the layout:

  • Layout StyleSingle Image / Contact Sheet (one photo, or a grid of many) or Picture Package (multiple sizes on one sheet).
  • Image Settings — how each photo fills its cell (rotate to fit, borders, and so on).
  • Layout — margins, gutters, and the number of rows and columns.
  • Guides — rulers, page bleed and margin guides while you work.
  • Page — background colour, page numbers, crop marks and photo-info text.
  • Print Job — print to a printer or to a JPEG file, with print resolution and sharpening, plus a fast draft mode.

Set the paper and printer from File ▸ Page Setup… and Printer…, then print with File ▸ Print.
