Metadata menu

Keywording and keyword shortcuts, Sweep, colour-label names, capture time, copying and syncing metadata between photos, and writing to XMP.

Keywords & Sweep

  • Add Keywords… — tag the selected photos.
  • Set Keyword Shortcuts… — assign up to nine keywords to ⌃1–⌃9, so you can toggle a keyword on the selection with one key.
  • Enable Sweep (⌥⌘K) — Lumidex Studio's take on Lightroom's Painter. Load a rating, flag, colour and keywords into the toolbar well, then drag across grid cells to apply them all at once. See the toolbar well for what's currently loaded.

Colour label names

Edit Color Label Names… renames the five colour labels (Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Grey) to your own words. It's a display-only rename — the underlying colours are unchanged, and your chosen names appear everywhere labels are shown.

Capture time & copying metadata

  • Edit Capture Time… — correct the date/time on the selected photos (for a mis-set camera clock).
  • Copy Metadata (⌥⇧⌘C) / Paste Metadata (⌥⇧⌘V) — copy metadata from one photo and apply it to others.
  • Sync Metadata… — push chosen metadata fields from the active photo across the whole selection.

XMP & the files on disk

  • Automatically Write Changes to XMP — when on, metadata edits are written to XMP sidecars next to your files as you go, so nothing is trapped in the catalogue.
  • Save Metadata to File (⌘S) — write the selected photos' metadata out to their files now.
  • Read Metadata from File — pull metadata back in from the files on disk.

Keyword lists

Import Keywords… and Export Keywords… move your keyword tree in and out as a standard list; Purge Unused Keywords removes keywords no photo uses.

Metadata presets

Metadata Presets… — save reusable sets of metadata (copyright, contact, caption) to apply in bulk on import or later.
